Volunteering
As tall ships go, we are small! We therefore only have limited capacity to cope with volunteers and are generally only at assist one at a time. In the past we have provided Practicum experience to a number of students from Capillano College in BC, Canada. In addition, we have provided volunteer positions for deckhands, providing them with confidence, work experience and, hopefully, good employment refereneces for job seeking.
If you have an interest in volunteering, we will consider you if:
- You are a young person from Northland looking to enter the work force
- You are a tourism student from New Zealand looking to gain practicum experience in a workplace environment
- You are someone who has assisted with youth sail training on the Spirit of New Zealand and interested in joining us for youth sail training trips
But please be aware that that we have limited resources and we will do our best.
