2009 Grants
The R.Tucker Thompson Sail Training Trust would like to gratefully acknowledge the support received in 2009.
Far North Holdings for sponsoring places for young people from 7 schools in the Far North District
Fulton Hogan for sponsoring an employee's child from the Whangarei Area
Ricoh New Zealand for the contribution of a photocopier; this has drastically improved the quality of life for all of us!
Lotteries Community, Northland Region, for a $25,000 grant to assist with the shortfall in funding for the 2009 youth sail training voyages. This enabled us to deliver 80 places in 2009.
We are extremely grateful to Southern Trust for providing funding to assist with this year's maintenance to refurbish our ageing and tatty squabs.
The Trust would like to acknowledge the Eastern Community Board of the Far North District Council for a $2,000 grant towards a youth sail training trip in June.
The ship would like to thank the Northern Community Board of the Far North District Council for a $2,000 grant towards a youth sail training trip.
2008 Grants
The R.Tucker Thompson Sail Training Trust would like to gratefully acknowledge the support received in 2008.
Pub Charity for the a $16,800 contribution for the purchase of new sails for the ship;
Salesforce.com for support via their salesforce.com Foundation for use of the not-for-profit-force SasS product.

The ship would like to thank the Western Community Board of the Far North District Council for a $2,000 grant towards a youth sail training trip.
Lion Foundation who contributed towards a safety equipment package including:
- New Niad tender vessel
- Safety Flares
- Depth sounder
ASB Community Trust for a grant of $41,000 towards our winter refit, involving removal and repair of forward mast.
2007 Refit
The following work was carried out through a $31,500 grant from Pub Charity:
- Haul out, antifoul and paint
- Safe ship management hull inspection
- Seacock and through hull survey
- Refit of mechanical bilge pumping systems
- Rigging refit and repairs
2007 Sail Training
The ship would like to acknowledge the Eastern Community Board of the Far North District Council for a $3,797 grant towards a youth sail training trip.
