Film Work

The ship is no stranger on the stage and has been used in a number of filming projects, from documentaries to fact based dramas as well as fiction.

For movie making, the R. Tucker Thompson is a character ship, extremely well built and professionally certified.   She has a background and a beauty to enhance any story and adventure in which she takes part.  She is of a raffish and buccaneering appearance and looks as if a bunch of pirates might own and use her for their own dastardly deeds!  Combined with this, she is an ocean going ship with the integrity and strength to anywhere in the world with safety and security.  She can, and does, work to pay her way.

We are no strangers to film and TV work and can co-operate, within the bounds of safety, towards the director's aims.  The ship is fully surveyed compliant with the Maritime Safety Act, supplied manned with a Master, first mate, second mate, professional cook and 3 deckhands.  Our price includes insurance for both the ship and crew and includes full use of the vessel during the period of hire.

Depending on the nature of the project, the ship can be also be used for film crew accommodation for up to 8 production crew.

The ship has taken part in numerous film productions including:
